Hello World!
My name is Hank, Hang Yu on the other hand is my official name. I am a forth year B.Sc. candidate in Honours Microbiology and Immunology, with microbiology being my primary focus.
Synthetic biology to me means a way bringing talents from various backgrounds together. Simply look at this year’s team composition and you will understand why. With past projects from medical solutions to bioremediation to biofuel production to computational science, there is no limit for this rapidly expanding field! I am extremely excited to be part of this growing process.
Outside of class/lab, you have a good chance finding me in UBC dojo traning Hapkido, at marine drive tennis court playing tennis or simply hanging out with friends in various places. If not, I could be snowboarding, playing guitar, hiking, swimming, doing other outdoor activities, volunteering or cooking!
